When We Move Too Fast
I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon the house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock...and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. --- Matthew 7:24b-27

Some of the best Kingdom building visions are foiled by our haste to make things happen too soon. We think God needs our help, so we go around Him to save some time. We are so good at talking ourselves into believing that God will go along with what we decide! Sure enough, we douse a flicker of hope that never got the chance to become a flame because our plans didn't align with God's Plan of Salvation (aka GPS). It is exciting when the Holy Spirit births God's vision within our spirit. We want to share the concept with everyone we know and begin working on it right away. In one blink we move too fast! We set the date, time, and location to debut God's vision. We give God's vision a name, and we establish protocol and procedures for His vision. We do all of this ahead of God, and then we hold Him responsible for showing up on time and completing our agenda. We are something else, aren't we? Anytime we move ahead of God, we detach ourselves from the Vine Who supports and sustains us in what we are called to do. Spiritually, we are driving a car straight ahead with no map, no destination, and not even a full tank of gas! Yes, our initial intentions are meant for good. But it is more beneficial to the Kingdom when we look through the lens of humility, and trust God in orchestrating the finesse of His vision - no matter how long it takes. The joy of our role in God's plan will come to pass at the sweetest appointed time.
